"He is the epitome of crime." Doesn't seem right. I think that would be better as "He is the epitome of criminality". Or maybe "The brutal act was the epitome of crime." See what I'm getting at here is that "he" whoever he is, is not the crime. What he DID is the crime and that is what you are trying to say. Isn't it? Of course you can also just use the handy spell checker in the upper right corner like I just did.

The word you're looking for is epitome. I don't think your sentence makes sense though. Better would be "he is the epitome of criminal".
