I went to college and got to degrees (secondary edu, and mathematics). I was planning on being a high school math teacher, but it turns out I suck at teaching. I also suck at everything else. I'm current working at walmart because I suck at everything else.

I would like to apologize for wasting money/scholarships that could have gone to more deserving people. I receive about 6500 in local scholarships, 4000 in fed aid, and 20000 in interest free loans.

I am going to repay all of the money that I took with interest.

My question is can I do anything else to repay society for wasting their money?

My name is Adam. I am a first year student at a community college and my tuition and other expenses book, supplies, etc. are paid entirely by financial aid. However after the first day of school I became very ill with pnemonia and I have not yet been able to go back since. I have missed a total of 6 class days. Will financial aid make me pay them back if I fail any of these classes? and will they award me any financial aid next semester if I fail any of these classes? I heard that since it is awarded by the school that if you transfer to a different school you will be awarded by income alone and not by previous gpa and preformance in school i would also like to know if this is true? and last but not least is there anything I can do in these special circumstances? thank you for the help!

I'm getting ready to apply for colleges and scholarships and I hear a lot about FAFSA. I'm not exactly sure what it is, but a little background information may help in your replies.

I have lived on my own since I was 17. And have been my own primary provider through high school, so I really don't have a lot of money to go to college on. I will graduate this may. If it is a grant or scholarship would I be eligable?

All information is welcome.

Thank you.

Most of the sites I've found are asking for money, and I don't want to spend money that I don't have on a scam. Does anyone have a link to a page where I can look up scholarships?

I am 26 years old, planning on going back to school for a B.S. in Paralegal Studies, so I do not qualify for just-out-of-high-school scholarships for people 17 and 18 years old.

I have been accepted to one health professional graduate school but I am still waiting on decisions from two other schools to decide where I will go. My question is; what are the procedures and deadline when it comes to applying for Fafsa/student loans? To my understanding, students usually apply for financial aid after they become aware of their educational costs. I am not sure which school I will join, and the costs of attending each school vary. Please help me out; I never applied for financial aid during my undergraduate years.

Situation: I went to a college in NYC in 2002. I enrolled in September, left by October. I had gotten a loan from Bank of America for part of my tuition. When I left the college I cancelled the loan, therefore the school never got the money. However, the school wants the 14K even though I wasn't even there for a semester. When I dropped out the only thing I ever signed was a Withdrawl Form which has nothing regarding being responsible if I left, etc. Is there any way of putting the burden on the college to prove that I do have to pay and dispute this in my credit report, etc?

And since this is a debt owed to an institution, not a student loan, etc...Is there any Statute of Limitations? Also note that I have not heard from the collection agency in years.

On my credit report it states that the Date of 1st Delinquency was 09/2002. However, I was attending school in 09/2002 and didn't leave till 10/09/2002. Does that make sense?

In the Spring of '04 I receiced a Pell Grant and started school. I chose to work instead of going to school, which was a stupid mistake on my behalf. I didn't drop my classes and I just quit going to school so I lost my Pell Grant and the next semester that I went to school, which was Fall '05 I had to pay for it. So is there any way I can earn my Pell Grant back? And am I still eligible to get a scholarship if I raise my GPA enough?

I'm about to transfer to a college in Northern California and before I transfer I want to get a laptop. I am majoring in digital media arts and I heard that apple is still the better brand for the arts. I received a California Governor's scholarship for a significant amount and would like to apply it towards a laptop. The scholarship's website say that it does allow one to buy equipment, like computers. The main issue is that I live in Southern California and am unsure how to purchase. The bookstore website links to the apple educational store. Who do I make it out to? Should I try a local CSU and see if I can buy it there?

Hello, I'm planning on going to grad school in the fall. As a grad student, I'm automatically considered "independent" by the federal government. However, New York State uses a different standard and since I still lived at home in '06 and still do, they require information on my parents, including their social security numbers. I don't even want to bother at this point, since if they factor in my father's income, I'm not going to get anything, and I don't want to mislead them either. What should I do?
