I went to college and got to degrees (secondary edu, and mathematics). I was planning on being a high school math teacher, but it turns out I suck at teaching. I also suck at everything else. I'm current working at walmart because I suck at everything else.

I would like to apologize for wasting money/scholarships that could have gone to more deserving people. I receive about 6500 in local scholarships, 4000 in fed aid, and 20000 in interest free loans.

I am going to repay all of the money that I took with interest.

My question is can I do anything else to repay society for wasting their money?

If you're that good math maybe you should look into accounting. There is always a market for them and they make good money! You could be a real aid to society if you really like the math. You could even consider something in the engineering fields. You just need a bit of confidence,,Best to you.;-)=

You don't need to apologize since you obviously earned the scholarships and aid. Those were for your education, and you got that. Someone, or many, felt that you were deserving of their assistance and two degrees--now you should feel that you are deserving as well.

I doubt you suck at EVERYTHING. What was it about teaching that made you feel that way? What about teaching younger kids?

You can't repay the scholarships, but it might make you happy to financially help someone else go to school. That would be a nicer way to repay society, without wasting money.

There's nothing that says you have to be exactly what you went to school for--you learned many things while you were in school that will translate to other careers. Not many people have only one career in their lifetime!

Writing in clear English is already a boon to the Yahoo community; so few people have the education and integrity to do so.
I can't tell what your actual tone is, because you rather sound tongue-in-cheek!
If this is your actual situation, as I can only err on the side of caution and take you 100% at your word, then guess what?
Please find a job at any other company than Wal-Mart.
You will not be treated as well as at almost any other large company.
We in this house boycott the place for the way the workers are treated, the way they have tyrannized American manufacturers, oh, and global manufacturers, and the way they are tearing small towns apart.
Besides, being in an environment where the signs are black and blue reminders of abuse is not my favorite environment, and I imagine could be very depressing to you. To heck with the image, just the colors are known to be depressant to the perceptual system in the brain.
So move on, lighten up, and you'll be peachy!

No, I don't think you can do anything else. I would pay only the money back that I had to. You got the education you wanted. And maybe some day you will build your self esteem up and want to try teaching again.

Everyone is entitled to try
and everyone is entitled to fail.
If you tried your best,
you did not fail, so
you need not apologize.
