I have been accepted to one health professional graduate school but I am still waiting on decisions from two other schools to decide where I will go. My question is; what are the procedures and deadline when it comes to applying for Fafsa/student loans? To my understanding, students usually apply for financial aid after they become aware of their educational costs. I am not sure which school I will join, and the costs of attending each school vary. Please help me out; I never applied for financial aid during my undergraduate years.

Yes. In fact, apply ASAP!

Most schools *expect* you to apply for Financial Aid sometime during the Admissions process, or at least well before they bill you. The FAFSA will asks questions about your income, assets, and educational program, but not about the *costs* of that program (though you really should research $$ matters before you commit to a school). You can fill out one FAFSA form (at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov) and have the results sent to several schools at the same time. This process allows you to receive and compare financial aid offers from multiple schools before you decide where you want to go.

Every school has a different deadline, so I would recommend contacting each school to which you are applying to see what you must submit and by what date.

IIRC your gov grant days are over, once you earn a BA you are no longer eligble for grants just loans. Anyway just go to the FAFSA website and apply from there, you can always put the school codes from all 3 schools so that each school will have a copy on file even before you apply.
Good luck in school.

Yes, you should actually go ahead and complete your FAFSA on line. You don't have to send the FAFSA to any given school until you discover/determine which school you plan to attend. Now that FAFSAs are free, you can go back into your FAFSA and arrange to send it to any school/schools of your choice once you have been granted admission. I am graduating from graduate school in about three weeks. Good luck to ya !

I don't think you can actually apply until you know what school you're going to. You need to give the school information when filling out the FAFSA. Plus, I think you have until around June or July to file.
