What word when read from backwards yields another word?

When a letter reads the same when read from either side, it is palindrome. If the letters of a word are rearranged to give a new word, it is anagram. What if it is a new word when read from backwards? Is there a name for it? Or, is called anagram too. E.g. Diaper-Repaid; Mood-Doom; Lever-Revel;Mart-Tram;Pan-Nap;Reel-Leer;Dias-Said;Rennet-Tenner;Room-Moor;Dew-Wed etc.

I need to give a 5-10 minute oral report in German for class on Friday. The topic can be anything. Any ideas?

I can't use Powerpoint or any notes. It is an international adult class at the Goethe-Institut in Berlin. It shouldn't be about my home country (USA). I am in the highest level German class so I have the vocabulary for most topics. It will be the same oral report I give for the ZOP (Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung), in case anyone knows what that is. Thanks a lot!

Do you agree with the American Academy of Pediatrics, who has banned tv viewing for any child under age 5?

The research shows that the "flicker" from the tv screen attracts and holds the child's attention. The problem is that the flicker keeps shifting, and exposure to this tv flicker over time has been shown, according to research, to reduce a child's attention span. This has dire consequences when the child goes to school, because when the teacher is giving instruction, she is not going to be flickering or moving constantly and changing to a new scene and thus holding the child's attention as well as a tv. TV viewing has been linked to shortening the attention span of a young, under age 5 child, so that child is less ready to learn in a classroom later.

Okay, this is starting to really annoy me now. What is?

The way people are using text speak to ask or answer questions on here. Sometimes I have to read a question 2 or 3 times to make sure I understand what they are saying! Does this annoy anybody else or am I being old fashioned in thinking that txspk be kept to mobiles?

Please, no naysayers.

From this Yahoo Answers site and from my kid's 7th grade teacher (who taught her 18 month old to read), I have learned that children can learn to read between the ages of 2 and 5 AND IMMENSELY ENJOY THE PROCESS OF LEARNING TO READ.

I am only interested in responses from people who have taught their young children to read. I know there is lots of disbelief--think as you wish. People have done this, and I just want to know how they approached the task, what worked to get their young ones reading.

TO kill a mockingbird?

atticus is always saying that to get to know a person you have to "walk around in their skin." how does this help jem and scout understand 3 characters in the book? like when atticus says "walk around in their skin" who does he mean and how do his kids take that lesson and understand people?
