I am seriously considering homeschooling my son for a few years. He is delayed in his speech but advanced every other way. The school he would attend is also a dual-immersion school (they teach half the class in Spanish then repeat the information in English). The school's test scores (they claim are good) show that only 26% of the kids can pass the tests. I think that homeschooling would also allow him to progress at his pace--not having to keep up with the fastest or alowest kid in class.

What were your reasons for homeschooling? Is it best to approach it on a year-to-year idea for make long term plans?

Ok....I have to write an essay tommorrow that ties in my reading assignments (see title). It has to be about how each of the stories portrays mankind's nature and how each of those natures are related. I would be extremely grateful if anyone could tell me how each of those stories portrays mankind's nature, even just one of those stories would be helpful. Thanks!

I'm 15 yrs old from the U.S. and aspiring to be an Airline pilot

Method: (If it is even logical)

1. Finish High school with good grades

2. Go to any University and get a Major in anything (if there is a recommended course please advise)

3. At 23 yrs old or so go to the USAF and apply for OTS and then UPT

4. If successful, stay with USAF for 10 years

5. Get out of the air force and apply straight to the top "Major" Airlines (not the regional airlines)

^^^^^ is that a possible route...or is there a better route ?

So for example could I say I am a supporter of the overcat Man Utd, in a match against the underdog Man City (for the record, I am not a footie fan, I am just using these as examples) Can, I copyright the term "overcat"? Could I get it in the OED? Discuss and debate to your hearts content. The most intelligent AND/OR humourus answers gets my points

A few weeks ago, I auditioned for Harmonia (a singing group for my school other than choir) and I made it in (yay!) Just today, I recieved a paper in third period that contained information and a permission slip for the school's knowledge bowl academic team. My teacher for Harmonia commented on another student who was chosen to be 'knowledgeable' and the older boys took him outside and put on a scene for the rest of us making sounds that sounded like they were beating him up. My dad says that academic leagues are very prestigious and colleges look for these type of things. Both activities rehearse/practice during Advisory (Homeroom.)

What do you think I should do?

During a choir/orchesta/bad concert attended by nearly 1000 students and families, my daugher performed a solo piece to open the concert. when she was done, she said into the Microphone, "I'd like to thank my wonderful choir teacher for all she has taught me over the past two years...Like always knowing what to say in a bad situation...like, 'G*dd@mmit! Get your @ss out into the hall! Why won't you fu(king listen? I don't care if you learn or not; I get paid either way!'"

She was only repeating language used on a daily basis used by the teacher. Now, so many parents have called the school to complain about the TEACHER, that the school district is being forsed to conduct a formal investigation.

My daughter has been suspended from school for 10 days for publicly repeating what the teacher has said, but can go back after 5 days if she apologizes.

Should she be sorry?

at this school I have had a lot of trouble doing well, partly because it is a transition between public school to private school, more work, and I had so many after school comitments that once istarted, I couldn't end. I started getting many c's the ocasional B, and scattered D's and F's on test, A's only on quizzes. I just got a D on one of my final exams. So was this the right choice? or should i move?
