I can't use Powerpoint or any notes. It is an international adult class at the Goethe-Institut in Berlin. It shouldn't be about my home country (USA). I am in the highest level German class so I have the vocabulary for most topics. It will be the same oral report I give for the ZOP (Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung), in case anyone knows what that is. Thanks a lot!

I told my teacher I might not be ready tomorrow so she said I could present later. I'm thinking of presenting on the book "Our Iceberg Is Melting" by John Kotter ("Das Pinguin-Prinzip" in German). This will be the same report that I give for the ZOP (Zentrale Oberstufenprüfung), so does anyone familiar with the test and the book know if this would be a good topic? I will check with the teacher in any case. Thanks!

Lucky you! I wish I could do that in German, afraid mine's limited to the "Gasthaus" variety. LOL

But, I think a GREAT topic would be the change in the relationship between Germany and the US since Merkle took over from Schraeder (please forgive spellings!). She HAS warmed up to us a bit!

You have the perfect topic for a report! Speak to the audience about your experience of learning the language. Give some examples. Try to give a funny example or two about when you first started learning the language. Say why you chose German, what you like about the language, and what you don't like, if anything. Speak a bit about the country and what you think of the people. The audience will "eat it up." Good luck.
