If you roll the "dice" you are rolling 2 or more, but if you're rolling just one, it's a "die" not a "dice."

That's like saying, "I saw a mice!"

"You did? How many?"

"Just one. I saw one mice."

Americans just seem really uneducated as far as language goes. It's like they speak like 5 year old Canadians and never improve.

I'm 15 & i'm a guy. I'm not spoiled or anything, but I am like the laziest person you will ever meet. I got dropped from school 3 months ago & all I do is sleep, eat, computer, watch tv, & sleep again. I haven't been outside walking ever since I got dropped from school. I'm going to summer school this month & then back to regular school, but i'm so used to staying at home that I can't even think about walking to the bus stop every morning. I wish I can motivate myself to do something more active and to concentrate on making a better future for myself, but then I'm like oh i'll just wait till my Senior year to worry about that & i'm going on to the 11thgrade this year. What should I do?

I have a 10 year old who is perfectly confident in everyway, but has a speech disfluency where she repeats syllables in about every other sentence or so. Usually she doesn't even notice she's doing it. She goes to speech therapy and I believe it's helped somewhat but I don't understant how it helps. I've asked and I still don't understand. She does the therapy at school and I just found out that she goes with other children who have different speech issues than her (these children are also very disruptive in a normal classroom setting). My child does not have any confidence issues nor does she suffer any stigma for going to speech during school. When kids find out she goes to speech they usually don't understand why she goes. We have her IEP meeting today and I'm just wondering if anyone can explain to me how therapy is supposed to help and if it's detrimental to have children with different speech issues in the same session. Thank you!

for english h/w I need to write a description of an old person - we've been asked to include the senses - i.e. smell, touch, taste, sight etc... I'm describing the smell - 'With every movement, a waft of lavender scent....' now I'm stuck - is dissipate the right word, but I'm thinking it might be too scientific and will disrupt the flow of writing... can you think of a word to put there...?

My mom doesnt want me to go to one out of state. but i want to be a lawyer and as far as i know there isnt one near by. Also i dont want to be away from my boyfriend. i love him very much and i dont want to be away from him for that long of a time. the only way i can even go to college is if i get a scholarship. but there arent that many i can choose from being from middle class. also there are times when i feel i dont even want to go to college because i see alot of people around me who didnt go and they seem ok. and then there are times (like now) that going to college is the most important thing in the world that i can do. cause it would help out alot finacially. i have had people tell me that becoming a lawyer would keep me away from my family and i dont want that. i want to have a husband and kids and be able to spend time with them. i need help!!!
