This is a thesis for my essay. I am not sure when to use a semi-colon....and I must include specific examples from both plots. If anyone knows how to make this all into one big sentence would really appreciate it :) does my sentence make sense and flow??!

Shakespeare’s tragedy Romeo and Juliet, and comedy A Mid Summer Night’s Dream, both consist of significant similarities as well as differences in their plots; a similar theme, father’s disproval of love interest, and a tragic and happy ending.

In which there are three blackbirds.

A man and a woman and a blackbird
Are one.

The blackbird whistling
Or just after.

With barbaric glass.
The shadow of the blackbird
Crossed it, to and fro.
The mood
Traced in the shadow
An indecipherable cause.

O thin men of Haddam,
Why do you imagine golden birds?
Do you not see how the blackbird
Walks around the feet
Of the women about you?

And lucid, inescapable rhythms;
But I know, too,
That the blackbird is involved
In what I know.

IX
When the blackbird flew out of sight,
It marked the edge
Of one of many circles.

X
At the sight of blackbirds
Flying in a green light,
Even the bawds of euphony
Would cry out sharply.

XI
He rode over Connecticut
In a glass coach.
Once, a fear pierced him,
In that he mistook
The shadow of his equipage
For blackbirds.

The blackbird must be flying.

It was evening all afternoon.
It was snowing
And it was going to snow.
The blackbird sat
In the cedar-limbs.

I can understand why some of these... i dont know what theyre called are used in spoken language, but really: are people in such a hurry while writing that they dont have enough time to write 3 letters instead of one?

I'm having some trouble finding bibliographic details of some sites. If anyone's interested in helping me find some of these details, I can emails you the sites (there's only about 3 sites) and the details that I'm after. I don't need anyone to put it in a bibliography, I'm just after the details.
