English is not my first language, but Im quite good at it. Ive noticed these "u"s and "coz"s even in some novels and I just want to know what you think of it?
I can understand why some of these... i dont know what theyre called are used in spoken language, but really: are people in such a hurry while writing that they dont have enough time to write 3 letters instead of one?

We have become absolutely lazy with our language, and have been whittling it down to smaller and smaller words. Next thing you know, it's 1984. I prefer to use the real spelling of the words. 1) It's more educated 2) More easily understood 3) I like proper words.

People use them mostly online, or in a text message (..msg). Most novels use those short cuts if they are trying to convey a colloqiualism. People pretend they are too busy to use the right words, but they are just lazy.

After studying Chinese and Japanese for a long while, I realize more and more, how lazy we are at language. So I would suggest using the proper forms of the word. You come off a lot better, than not using them.

Although English is a language in transition, I still like to see words spelled properly. It has been postulated that the abbreviations, that you mentioned, and many others are the result of text messaging. I can understand the usage, in this case, as to simplify, and shorten, the message, but in the written word, such as novels and magazine articles, I would appreciate, proper spelling.

most likely, that phenomenon started in chatrooms, where less letters (luv instead of love, lol, etc) in a message means a faster transmission time. on forums though, the cute-y chatspeak language kinda annoys me because it's kinda rushed and impersonal and childish... i think the acronyms (i.e. w/o=without, b/c=because) are pretty useful though

I think it is not good to do that kind of silly mistakes but in my own view, people use that kinds of words to make them go faster with the time. This is also because of fast changing in the world. The world is very big in its size having lots of people with their own thinking. But in my view this is the only thing to rap the words. I dont think its good to do that because words are good in itself.
