We have to write a literary analysis on "The Scarlet Ibis". The theme has to be surrounding a universal idea and the setting. I wrote my intro paragraph and was wondering if you could edit/imporve it for me. I am up for constructive criticism...Thanks in advance =].

James Hurst’s “The Scarlet Ibis” is a tragic short story. A handicapped baby Doodle is born with a weak heart and is given a limited life expectancy because of his disability. However, his older brother denies Doodle’s weaknesses and starts to teach him to walk, run, and swim- even during storms. With determination of overcoming an obstacle as well as a struggle, Doodle lives longer than expected and learns to walk on his 6th birthday. The success of Doodle raises the hopes of his chance to live longer but in the end, the hope does not reach far and Doodle dies. Through Doodle’s fight to live, the reader learns that death is inevitable- even if one storm is defeated, another will always be present to destroy.

Okay, so I'm obsessed with grammar. (lol) So with that in mind, I have a comma question. I'm willing to bet that you insert commas like this (Bob, Joe, and Sally) NOT like this (Bob, Joe and Sally). However, even on college brochures and school assignments, I see the use of only one comma (Bob, Joe and Sally). Isn't this incorrect? Why do so many colleges and higher-up businesses create such an obvious mistake?

So, that's when I thought maybe I'm wrong with the comma rule. Does anyone officially know?

I am enrolled in Vatel Buenos Aires: University of Hotel Management. And everywhere where I've searched for student loans they are only for the US school and/or very famous international schools. DOES THIS MEAN that Vatel is NOT a US ACCREDITED university???? If so or if not, where can i find a student loan? Or should i consider gettting only a personal loan? I HAVE NO IDEA about these things!

My first year of Spanish I completed with a B+, then second year came. That was a disaster--the first semester I got an A+ even though I had, quite literally, done nothing in the class. Then second semester, with a new teacher, I got a C because she didn't seem to get how far behind we all were. Now, in third year with the same teacher I had my freshman year, I'm struggling. I have a C-, borderline D, because I can't catch up with everyone else. I don't understand what's being said at this level, and the book we're reading is hard for me to understand, even while everyone else says it's easy.

However, my teacher advises us to continue with Spanish IV, because with it, it's easier to test out in college.

What should I do?
