I heard a rumor that if you apply for the summer session instead of the fall session for a college/university that you will have a higher chance of getting accepted. Since I dont have a very good gpa I am hoping that this rumor is true and I should just start applying for the summer sessions instead.

Hi, I'm taking an English Literature exam tomorrow and today our class was given a list of words which would be good to use in our essays.

This list included 'zeitgeist' which means the same as 'spirit of the age'. As in "John Fowles captures the spirit of the [Victorian] age through his pastiche of a Victorian novel"

But "Fowles captures the zeitgeist through his pastiche of a Victorian novel" frankly sounds ridiculous. How WOULD I use it in a sentence?

I think it's a great word and I'd like to use it instead of 'spirit of the age' should the opportunity should arise; however, I don't want to use it incorrectly.

Can anyone help?

There are two companies that sell widgets. Both companies sell the widgets to the general public for the same price. In order to earn business, Company A offers a special 25% discount on each order. In response, Company B offers a 35% discount on every dollar the customer spends over $50. Both discounts are rounded to the nearest cent. If you place an order for $50 or less, it is less expensive to order from Company A. If you place a large enough order, it will be less expensive to order from Company B. At what price does it become less expensive to order from Company B?
Determine the actual price at which Company B will give you a greater discount than Company A.

1. Explain how you reached this conclusion.

I am a preschool teacher, working with 3-5 year olds. I have some very energetic boys who LOVE to play outside, but during these winter months, we can't spend as much time outdoors as we'd like. I'm running out of ideas! I need some fun, easy-to-organize activities that will burn off some energy without being too disruptive indoors. Thanks for the help!

Does it matter that much? I wouldn't consider myself a very religious person but the only schools that are located around my home seem to all be private religious universities. Would it matter if I went even if I'm not religious, as long as I'm able to attend some sort of university?

I'm 34 and I had been a software developer for the last 10 years. I was pondering what I really want to do with my life. I thought long and hard and I really want to become a doctor and help people who are suffering. I already have a BS in BA and I'm currently taking the pre-med science classes. I will be 36 when I apply for med schools. Is 36 too old to get into this field?

Can someone please help me translate my ideas from english to spanish for a thank you note following up a job interview? I need it to be really, really precise since it's for a job interview, so please only respond if you are sure about the grammar. Thank you very much!

This is the meaning I want to convey, "Thank you very much for taking the time to meet with me and explore whether I may be a good fit at Company X. I would love to be part of your team. I look forward to hearing from you! . . . . . Sincerely. " It doesn't have to be a literal word-for-word translation-I just want to same meaning, or something close.
