Hi. I'm currently a theatre major in the Midwest. However, I am thinking more and more about becoming a high school teacher of drama, speech, and English. My goal is to live in or near Boston.

I was wondering if it is necessary to have a teaching degree in Masschusetts, or if one can teach with a teaching certificate. In my state, you can teach with just a certificate; however, each state is different.

I do hope to eventually get a Masters in Education or Theater Education. I would like to get some teaching experience before that, though.

I have tried to do some research, but it is so hard to find solid information!

Any other information would be helpful as well. Thank you!

One of my best friends is in my Honors World Geography class, which is really hard. We have to take notes over 'key issues' from the book, and then we have a quiz, and on the quiz we can use out notes. Well, this past time I spent 3 whole hours taking notes on this one section (I have to work really hard in this class because earlier I had an F, but now I have a low A) and the next day, my friend was like "Have you finsished your notes?" I have study hall 1st period, and I was planning to do the last little bit there, so I said "Not yet... why?" She wanted to borrow my notes! This was the 3rd time she's done this to me! I said "no, I don't" and then she was like "well, you're doing in Study hall right?" I was like... "Why don't YOU do it?" and... ugh! I'm babling, anyway, is there a way I can tell her, HECK NO YOU CAN'T USE MY NOTES! I mean, she's nice and all, but I worked hard on these notes, and want to keep them. Any suggestions?

I often hear the phrase . . . " I was just being sarcastic ". The comment that was made and sounded to be sarcastic was usually demeaning and / or hurtful. I once looked up that word and was surprised at the literal meaning. Any of you know ? Definition was an I opener.
