One of my best friends is in my Honors World Geography class, which is really hard. We have to take notes over 'key issues' from the book, and then we have a quiz, and on the quiz we can use out notes. Well, this past time I spent 3 whole hours taking notes on this one section (I have to work really hard in this class because earlier I had an F, but now I have a low A) and the next day, my friend was like "Have you finsished your notes?" I have study hall 1st period, and I was planning to do the last little bit there, so I said "Not yet... why?" She wanted to borrow my notes! This was the 3rd time she's done this to me! I said "no, I don't" and then she was like "well, you're doing in Study hall right?" I was like... "Why don't YOU do it?" and... ugh! I'm babling, anyway, is there a way I can tell her, HECK NO YOU CAN'T USE MY NOTES! I mean, she's nice and all, but I worked hard on these notes, and want to keep them. Any suggestions?

Tell her you need your notes so your grades dont drop again. End the conversation at that. If she presses it tell her its not fair for her to constantly expect to borrow your notes, you need them, you need to study and for that fact so does she. A friend wouldnt let your grades slip because they were lazy.

First, you have every right to say no. Please, you really aren't doing her any favors by giving her your notes. If you are friends, suggest that maybe you get together to study and do your notes rather than just giving your notes up.

Sorry you are in this situation. Just say no!

How about two sets of notes? One that you keep and the other the "Reader's Digest" version of your notes. That way you sort of help without helping her cheat. Or just simply tell her, "No." Tell her she needs to make effort and do her own work.

well, you just said it yourself "you are really nice, and we are friends, but heck no, you can't use my notes." Honestly, you are not doing her any favors by helping her cheat...which is what you are really doing. she is cheating in class by not doing the work, and she is cheating herself by cutting corners. stand up for yourself. and by doing so, you will find out if she really is a friend, or if she is using you. I hope she is a friend...even if a lazy one, haha.

Be honest - it's the only solution.
