I have to use the pathagorean theorem......
A side = 13
B side = 16
C side = ?

so it is A squared + B squared = C squared
13 squared is 169 and 16 squared equals 256. 169 + 256 = 425. So C squared equals 425.....but what is 425 squared?

I know...it's seventh grade math!!!!! woo-hoo!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT!!

I asked for help from a teacher. 2 weeks ago, I went into his room to schedule a session where he can tutor me. We decided wednesday after school last week. I went in and he told me that he was busy and FORGOT that he had 2 meetings that day after school. We rescheduled for today after school. I went in to his class today and he said he can not do it today or for the rest of the trimester. Now that it ends the end of the trimester, and I don't know how to do my homework, I am failing the class, and am stressed out. We have 3 days left to get in all of our work. This is the only class that I have ever failed. I get over 100% in most of my classes and geometry is the only class that I don't understand. Are the exscuses he made good ones, and why do teachers get away with everything. What can I do if it is not right. Should I have to suffer because my teacher is dumb.

As a Teacher in a Day Care Center, I witnessed another Teacher, who is also the Director of the Center, slap a toddler across the face out of anger and frustration. I went to the owners and told them what I had observed, and they said that they would take care of it. When I left at 6:00 p.m. today, nothing was done, and the Director obviously had no clue that I had observed her actions. If the owners choose not to do anything, I am considering going to The Dept. of Children and Family Services and filing a complaint. Am I doing the right thing, or can you suggest another option?
Thank You. This was very shocking and difficult for me to see, and I am very upset that nothing was done about it.

1.) I am a Cadette in Girl Scouts and we are working on our Silver Badge. We have to do something involving 'leadership'. I was thinking about tutoring and teaching younger kids with math and language arts at the public library. (Like ages 4-6) Do you think that library would let me hang up flyers or pass out brochures about it at their library and let me teach them there? If not, then where else could I do it?

2.) Is it a good idea to do that for the silver badge? What are some other options I could do instead of that that involves younger kids? Do you think I could help out at a daycare, maybe? See, I like to work with younger kids and I also like to teach. So that is what I was thinking when I thought about teaching and tutoring younger kids.

3.) If I do teach younger kids, where can I get good worksheets and lesson plans? Where can I get good ideas about things to do with them?
