I am looking for term whose definition would be something like the gap/difference/wait/discontinuity/time lapse/waiting room/moment of uncertainty/etc between a question and its answer.

I am looking for a term that points to this very specific meaning, i.e. NOT something like doubt, hesitation, etc. It has to define the relationship between a question and its answer, that gap (it may be a split second) of thought/time/etc that separates them is what I need.

The term may be literary, slang, academic, etc. I am unaware if such a word exists.

Ok I'm looking for websites that allow you to post and/or post jobs for field/research assistants for scientific research. I've been through several and I'm out of ideas. You're suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Everyone I discussed that issue with: ages ranging from 15 to 45 had negative comments, or at least neutral. Why? Can it be changed?

It is amazing to me how many HR personel don't know what a BBA is? I'm constantly going to job fairs to seek better employment and reps at the job fairs ask me all the time, "what is a BBA? Is it an associates or something." Why is it that HR people don't know what a BBA is but know what a BA/BS is? I'm getting really tired of explaining this to people who should know what a BBA is!!!! Its their job as HR people!!!!

Do you tell someone, "Please turn the air conditioning up." or "Please turn the air conditioning down." when you want the room to be warmer?

"Please turn the air up" can mean 'put the temperature gauge up higher so the air will turn off and the room will become warmer...' or it can mean 'increase the air flow (or increase power to the fan that blows the cold air) so that the room will become colder because more air is being blown out...'

However, "Please turn the air down..." can mean 'decrease the air flow (for a warmer room)...' or it can mean 'turn the temperature down so the air conditioner will turn on (which will make for a colder room)...'

So... which phrase is the correct way to ask someone to adjust the air conditioner to make a room warmer? Which phrase do you use? Have you ever had to clarify what you meant because the person did the opposite of what you wanted?

Just Wondering...
T.
