I just can't figure out how to get it into fraction form... There is a fraction button... but it doesn't want to work... the calulator has been thrown around a bit... and the six sticks sometimes... So is it just the mine?

No the ()'s don't work... I want it in fraction form... Like simplify.... so if I did 4/8 it would come up, 1/2

you should get this on screen;

from 4/8 to 2/4 to simple form 1/2

adding fractions;

You should get this mixed fraction on screen;

To convert mixed fraction to improper fraction;

You should get this improper fraction on screen;

5/4

To convert to decimal;

If all you want is the reduced form of a fraction, simply enter 4/8 and press enter. You will see o.5, then use the FRAC key to convert the decimal back to a fraction in reduced form as 1/2.

On almost any calculator this works. It's so simple but no one realizes it. If you wanted to do 1/3, you would do, for example (1/3) and then divide or multiply or add or whateved. Just open parenthesis one divided by three close parenthesis.
