Prejudice vs. Discrimination
Prejudice can lead to discrimination, and discrimination can lead to prejudice, although they are very different. There are various levels of prejudice and discrimination. The first level of discrimination is verbal expression, which is the statement of dislike or the use of a derogatory term for example, if someone
were to say "I hate Black people." . In prejudice however, there is a cognitive level, which is a person's beliefs and perceptions of a group as threatening or not, equal or inferior and other positive or negative characteristics such as, status, or biological composition. Discriminators are more likely to act upon what they believe, known as the physical abuse level. They tend to show ethnoviolence, these acts may include violent attacks on the members of a disliked group, or even go as far as massacres, genocide, or pogoms that are conducted against people. While discriminators tend to be violent, prejudice people.
