A represents grandma's age
B represents Michele's age
EQUATION 1: A = 11*B (so grandma's age equals michele's age times 11)
EQUATION 2: A+5 = 6*(B+5) (so you add 5 years to grandma's age and that will equal 6 times michele's age in 5 years, get it?)
so to get an answer we need to use either only A's or only B's, and since the question is asking for Michele's age, we need to find out what B is.
So since A = 11*B, i'm going to substitute the "A" in equation 2 with 11*B to give equation 3
EQUATION 3: (11*B)+5 = 6*(B+5)
simplifying equation 3:
11B+5 = 6B+30
11B-6B=25
5B=25
B=5
and going a step further, using equation 1 we can find out grandma's age
A = 11B
A=11*5
A = 55

I figured the grandmother hopefully wouldn't be 44 years old.
She is 6 years old. I went through the answer choices, and found C works. Right now the grandmother is 11 times older than Michele's 6 years. 6*11=66. Right now Michele's grandmother is 66 years old. In 5 years she will be six times older than Michele is now. Add the 5 years to Michele's age 6 you get 11. Michlele's grandmother is 6 times older than her. 11*6=66

D.7years old
7*11=77 the age of the grandma now.
in 5 years 77+5=82 and Michele will be 13 82/6= 13.66 and since you can't be .66 years and still be considered a year older that's how it works. I hope I was helpful. But I probably wasn't.

B.

Let Michelles's age be x
Then Granny's age is 11x
In 5 years Michelle will be x + 5, and granny will be 11x + 5
and 11x + 5 = 6(x + 5)
11 x + 5 = 6x + 30
5x = 25
x = 5
So Michelle is 5

im not telling you the answer but i will tell you how do solve it. okay so first wut i did was i wrote down: x11 +5 6x jsut for me to keep track then i took 4 and multiplied it by 11: 4x11=44 then i added 5 to four because you need to add 5 years to her now (or then?): 5+4=9 then i added 5 to 44= 49 because you need to add 5 years to geandma's age. then i went liek this 9x6= 54 beacuse you need to see if its 6 times older than michelle so if both of the last two problems are equal then you have your answer get it? read over it a few times if you dont

5
5*11=55
6x=60
x=10
First, you multiply all the possible answers by 11
Add 5 to each (9,10,11,12) and the answers (49,60,71,82)
Divide the bigger ones by 6 and if they match Michelle's respect age with the constraints, you get 10 and 60, subtract 5 from both. 5 and 55. Meets both requirements...
B is the answer

Well, narrow the answer down to C and D because a grandma is normally at least 66 or 77.
