Does anyone have any interesting info on the Vikings? Anything they did that was interesting/important in history? Or how they were pertinent to U.S. or world history? Any info or sources where I can find info would be appreciated.

Something that is "verbal" is expressed in words. It may be written or oral, but as long as it is in words, it is verbal.

Something that is "oral" is voiced, whether or not it is in words. A baby cries orally, but not necessarily verbally.

I hear these words misused all the time - perhaps it is a product of the media. However, there is one exception that most people seem to get right away - "Non-verbal Communication." This deals with body posture and gestures, which are by definition not expressed as words, and so is a PERFECT use of the word "verbal."

What are your thoughts?
[Please contribute something constructive. And of course you will be doing it "verbally," unless you can paste in a picture somehow. :o) ]

Don't even get me started on "lectern" vs. "podium," and their/there/they're. Grrrrrr.

My plan is to enroll in a local city college and then transfer onto a college campus sometime next year. By then I will be 27, nearly 10 years older than most of the other freshmen. Will I be seen as an outsider in this community? Do you think I should live off campus?
My life thus far has been full of failure (divorce, shitty jobs) and I am wanting badly to start over and better myself.
Also, the University I hope to transfer to is Uhio University. If you are familiar with this school please let me know of your experience. Thanks everyone.

"Of the Seven Deadly Sins, anger is possibly the most fun. To lick your wounds, to smack your lips over grievances long past, to roll over your tongue the prospect of bitter confrontations still to come, to savor the last toothsome morsel both the pain you are given and the pain you are giving back - in many ways it is a feast fit for a king. The chief drawback is that what you are wolfing down is yourself. The skeleton at the feast is you. Recognize your anger - and what it creates."
