North High School will have its first graduating class in the year 2001. To celebrate, it has designed watches with a gold leaf sector between the 12 and the 1 as shown.

Next year's graduating class will have gold between the 12 and the 2 as shown. Each of the first twelve graduating classes will have a similar design. This way, when graduates meet other alumni many years from now, they will instantly be able to determine which year they graduated.

As student body president, Susan is concerned with the cost of the watches and needs to tell the jeweler the amount of gold each watch will require. If the radius of the face of the watch is 2 cm, help Susan out by making a table with the areas of gold leaf for each of the first 12 graduating classes.

I have read alot of the answers in the homework section, and I have to say a large portion of the answers appall me. Many people help students out with their english homework on here, when they themselves couldn't pass rudimentary 5th grade english; let alone advanced composition. I see a large amount of sentences that make absolutely no sense gramatically, yet these people feel qualified to answer questions that students ask pertaining to grammar.

Take this sentence from an answer I saw for example: "my stay at the hospital someone was having a liver biopsy" Now what the hell does that even mean? Were you the one having the biopsy? Was it someone else in there at the same time as you having the biopsy? Did you go visit someone having/recovering from a biopsy?

I understand the people are just trying to help, but in the end are you not just doing the students a disservice by teaching them incorrect grammar, and instead should focus your help to an area you are more qualified in?

This school work is insane! I constantly find myself putting it off until the last second, which makes life more hectic than it should be.
