"Taxation without representation" - that was the biggie, and it underscored the real problem; the colonies had no representation in Parliament. I am convinced that if America had its own seats in the House of Commons, the revolution would not have happened.
Eventually, America would have gone its own way like the Canadians - without a shot being fired.

Well the British did not thing so. But the true answer is no for they were really traitor to the crown. It is a good thing that they won.
