Why are American Students Learning the same thing through High School both Math and English.And still Failing.

Especially if your taking Regular Classes in High School,you are still learning the same stuff that your were being taught in middle school.How does that help you be a better individual,perpared for college,and teaching your own children.

Why don't they teach sign language in school? If everyone knew it, we could communicate everywhere!?

It could be the universal language. For instance, if everyone in every country was taught to sign, you could travel anywhere and be able to talk with people. Bathroom might be a different word in another language, but the same sign would be learned.

How can I help my daughter find "where she is in space"?

My 4 year old daughter has neurological issues and is legally blind. She has been having trouble lately sleeping and wakes up often and flops around a lot while sleeping, sometimes crying out. She had a similar problem as a young baby and the doctors said she had a difficult time figuring our where she was in space and to let her put a lightweight blanket over her head, which she had started doing on her own. Now it seems worse. She does better if she has a lot of contact to her body (like two sides toucing her on the sofa). Has anyone heard of this or have any suggestions? Thanks.

What is the process for doing the square root of a number? Like how do you do it? not on a calculator.?

like for order of operations you do PEMDAS what do you do to do the square root/ how do you do it

why is university seeming to beecome more and more of a buisness?

schools are sponsord by pepsi or coke,
drink prices, food prices, are inflated,
you have to pay for parking regardless of your buisness there
even if youve payed thousands its not good enough,
theres bars and cafes on the campasses,
it seems to me like a life simulation or a day care

Central California Field Trip Destinations?

My son's elementary school is limiting field trips. If they take one at all, it is usually just to a function within the city limits. Gone are the all day bus trips to the California Missions or other such educational destinations. I want to augment my son's educational experience by taking him to some of these places on my own. I am looking for ideas between San Francisco/Bakersfield and Sierra Mountains/Coast line. Where have you gone? Where have your children gone?
