i dont want to go to college after high school, i want to do something that involves studying in a different country. i have found a program called LEAPYear (http://www.leapnow.org/home.htm ) which sounds great because i get to learn about different cultures, and help other people, AND it is just a year and the credits can all transfer over to a college and count as a year of college. what i would like to know, is does anyone know of another program that would be like the link above, because my mom and dad are not too crazy about the places offered to study at. OR does anyone know how i could phrase a search to find alternative programs to attend after high school (that aren't colleges). sorry if this makes no sense, its hard to explain with out rambling on, which i ended up doing anyways lol.

Hi All..
I am student of Business faculty. I have some plans of creating and opening a new department club for the Business faculty. This club will be for MIS department. I am not quite sure about its activites,structure and functions. Thomas Edison spent 3 months in school. His mother went in to discuss some of the problems. She disliked the teacher so much, she pulled Thomas from school.

She taught him to read, write and do math then left him to study what he wanted on his own, with some guidance. While some may say, "But she had been a school teacher!", please remember that there was no training for teachers back then. They simply taught they way they were taught, for the most part, and could become teachers often as young as 15 or 16. Also, she only did the early teaching and he learned independently after that on a wide variety of subjects.

Guided gently by his parents but still left to choose what he studied, he ended up studying lots of literature, history and science. When he discovered scientific works no school would ever have taught from, he became hooked.

i understand that when you verbally say "quote unquote", you are stating what the source stated verbatim. but then, when people make this finger gesture (making this quotation marks in the air) it seems to mean something else.

my friend said it is to emphasize certain words in your statement. I said it's to show that you dont really mean that particular word in your sentence : for example - i think she is really "beautiful" means she is not.

can't find this anywhere in the net. can someone clarify this to me?
