If you do not have a calculator program, which most
computers do, then you have to use the slash "/"
sign. It is just like a fraction. 1/2 is one half, but actually
means 1 divided by 2.....

If you mean the actual operation, you use the slash/slant such that:
81/9 = Answer
However, if you mean the mathematical symbol for division operation (÷):
1. Hold down the ALT key and while doing that,
2. Tap out 0247 at the Numeric Pad (not the ones in the orw above the letters) then release the ALT key.
such that 81 ÷ 9 = Answer.
÷ ÷ ÷

There is a reason someone once told you to memorize something called multiplication tables. For larger numbers you'd use long division, but at some point, when things get simple enough, you really just have to know. I guess if I were in a terrible automobile accident and forgot my multiplication tables, I'd just start adding 9's together and see how many them it takes to get to 81. That's what division is.

Generally "/" slash is the sign for division on the PC key board.......
It also depends on which application you are working on. for example if u r working on word document you can go in to
INSERT option on menu bar
SYMBOL on drop down menu
and you can find ÷ sign there...
Else hold ALT key and type 0247 it works in MS only
