This is one area in my teaching that I have never felt complete conviction one way or the other. I teach 3rd grade, and my policy last year was that students MUST correct work below a C for a higher grade. Students who had a C or above could correct their work if they wanted to for a higher grade. I found that when students were given the choice to NOT correct that they just didn't do it. How do the rest of you elementary teachers do it? I'm toying with the idea of not allowing corrections so that students must try their hardest the 1st time around- but that seems a bit contradictory to teaching since students are supposed to master skills. What do you think?

I'm taking a Digital Electronics class and our teacher wants us to find out (for fun) why 10,000 volts (or 2 combined 9 volt batterys) will not harm you, but a 12 volt car battery could cause you neurological damage, or kill you.

Tomorrow is the first day of school for my high school students. I plan on placing them in aplhabetical order. Should I do this as they come into class? If so how? Or should I have them sit, introduce myself, and then do alphabetical order? I need something that will be the most organized.

O.K., three people rented a room, the clerk charged thirty dollars,each person paid ten dollars a peice.
After the threesome had departed for their siesta the clerk realized that he had over charged them by five dollars, so he sent the change up with the bellboy. During his journey the bellboy took two of the dollar bills for himself, leaving one dollar a peice to the tennants. Ok, I live in Monroe, Louisiana, and I attend Neville High School. But for my American History homework, I have to draw a politically correct map showing how to get from Neville to Wal-Mart. The problem is that I don't know all the diffrent streets, and I don't have any transportation to get back and forth so that I can write down all these streets. If you know how to get from Neville to Wal-Mart could you please help me. I have to have this done by tomorrow. Thanx a lot!!!

P.S. If you know what this has to do with American History...please let me know, because I fail to see what a map from Neville to Wal-Mart has to do with History!!!
