Yes they do. It's because of the high sodium content in the water it makes our bodies more buoyant than the water and therefore, we float.

Yes, people do really do float in the Dead Sea.

The Dead Sea is the lowest point on earth. Although it is so low, it has an unusually high atmospheric pressure. This causes the water to evaporate, but not the salt content. the Dead Sea is rapidly shrinking, but it may not ever disappear entirely.

The Dead Sea's high salt content makes the waters in there more dense than normal fresh water. Because our bodies are buoyant and we are now less dense than the sea water, we float. We just bob there. Because we are humans, we can adapt to such environments, unlike fish, who are killed almost instantly in the Dead Sea.

Most people who visit the Dead Sea just kick back and read a book. You can be in the water for a long time because it doesn't recieve a lot of UV Rays. Some people can litarly sleep in the Dead Sea, because it doesn't take any effort to keep your body up.

Yes, people do float there. You can float in water if you're on your back or stomach anyway, but in the Dead Sea it's much easier. The reason that people are floating is because humans contain a lot of water in their bodies and the sea contains a lot of water too, but it's really the salt (Na) content of the Dead Sea that causes people to be so buoyant. You really don't have to do much to float there. It's also too salty for life form to exist there like in regular bodies of water.

Yes, people do really float. The reason why they float MORE than normal is because the Dead Sea is extremely salty. This salt creates more buoyancy for us to float. At least, that is what I have always been told. . .
