I would like some suggestions where 2 adults and a 10-year old child can go for Thanksgiving Dinner. The child is sort of a picky eater, so a more traditional approach would be good. Moderate price range, but wouldn't mind paying more if food was good. What do you think of a buffet idea? We've only driven through the city previously so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I like beans and rice, because this combination releases the protein in the beans! Has anyone figured out a simple way to get rid of the GAS besides Beano?

In a restaurant? Fast food?

I go to fast food places or order pizza about once every 1-2 weeks, and go to a restaurant about once every 2-3 months, unless I'm on a road trip with my family, then I eat out for every meal.

it would also be nice to know where to complain to higher up than the manager of the restaurant.

My goal is to start developing some friendships so what I am doing is stepping out of my comfort zone by first going to different residence halls to eat. If you are in college you know what I am talking about). Well I get there I purposely sit at a big table so when it gets crowded people would be forced to sit their with me. But when they actually sit down I freeze up I sit there and not say one word but they don't say anything either. If I don't find the courage to strike up conversations I will never make any friends. What should I do? What should I say?

Yesterday I and my friend visited an restaurant that served buffet lunch. We both had buffet lunch. Besides the charges for the buffet and the sales tax, we also saw Gratuities as part of the bill. I have never seen this before. Usually they charge it for parties of 6 or more. Is this legitimate?

When one dines out, the server gives you the bill, you pay cash and they have the courage to ask you if you want change. It bothers me!

I don't get it. We are obligated to tip waiters and waitresses, cab drivers and hair cutters. Ok, maybe hotel people, the newspaper boy/girl at Christmas.
But the ones who EXPECT a tip are food servers.
Why not the plumber, the person who helps you in Wal-Mart, the nice bank teller?
All of these people get an hourly wage. I get an hourly wage and I help people all the time, but never get a tip. And I don't expect one, but why do these certain workers expect money above and beyond their wage?
I'm just wondering how this custom got started.

Do you find that those with the most money(business men, high society, travelers, etc..) are the worst tippers?
It seems to me that after 20 years in this business that this is true.
The average working person is a better tipper than those that obviously have money to burn.
