My sister lives in Brighton. I'm going to meet her for some Xmas shopping- where could we go for early dinner? We've tried loads of the Lanes and are sick of Pinnochio's, Donnatello's etc' We like the Lanes and North Lanes - nothing too chainey. We both like international cuisine- especially oriental, but anything tasty and mid-price would be lovely...

I had heard that dining out in restaurants in UK/London with younger children isn't viewed as very socially acceptable - is that the case?

I'm looking for a restaurant somewhere around London that i can go with about 6 friends to for my 18th birthday in January. Was hoping to find a place that is no more than £30/head, good service, nice atmosphere........ somewhere that we can dress up for (knowing that we wont be surrounded by people in jeans). Or somewhere that is slightly different, maybe themed, but memorable. Lol......
Anyone have any ideas?.............

I want to take my girlfriend out for dinner on new years eve and would like to go somewhere a bit more up market than we would usually go. I'd like somewhere quiet and relaxed, no screaming kids, something like a candlelit dinner for two. We dont want entertainment afterwards like discos or kareokes. Can anyone recommend a nice place in the Leamington / Stratford / Coventry area. Something like a posh hotel maybe (although we dont necessarily want to stay the night). If you can provide a link to a website for the place you suggest I would appreciate it.
