our system is a pain in the bum because some places are different but the age for buying alcohol is 18 years old that bit is the law but if you are 16 you can buy a drink (beer perry) with a meal diff rent restaurants will say you have to be 18 some will be more lenient

You have to be 18 to buy alcohol but you can go in any pub at any age. Some pubs dont allow children

18 years old to buy alchohol, 14 to have a glass of wine with a meal in restauraunt under adult supervision, and 14 to go in a pub without buying alchohol. But many companies now require you be over 21, though that is not the law

18 in MOST places. However, these days there is Challenge 21, which means if you look under 21, you will be asked for proof of age. But, the legal age is 18
