Not even an abnormal Italian would do that

No, no, no, no. Pizza Hut is a very distant cousin to what an Italian (normal or abnormal) would be used to!! In general, I would not recommend London as a great pizza destination - but we do have many other excellent ethnic restaurants. Why don't you rather go for a good curry, or excellent sushi - or real English comfort food at a place like Butler's Wharf Chophouse. If you feel you absolutely have to have Pizza, try Strada - they're not too bad and there are lots of them all over. There are also a number of up-market italian places that apparently do heavenly food (River Cafe springs to mind) but you pay for the privilege! Your best bet is to check out the Square Meal website for their top 10 pizza places.

No. They're very greasy and taste sugary. (The Pizza Hut pizzas, that is...) Kiddy food. I would suggest that the best restaurants in London to take an Italian to are NOT Italian restaurants. They're bound to be inferior to what they get at home, unless you can find a genuine, family-run place. London has cuisines from all over the world. They might like to try Arabic (Lebanese or Moroccan), or there are some good-value Chinese and Vietnamese places round the back of Leicester Square (on the edge of Soho).

Don't do it - any person who likes their food, Italian or not, should not go to Pizza Hut.

Only this afternoon I was wondering what the appeal of Pizza Hut is. At lunchtime, in Oxford, there were people queueing in the rain to get a table in the Hut - when there are several other Italian restaurants (chains and independents) within yards of it, serving far superior food. I'm afraid the attraction is completely lost on me.

No self-respecting Italian would go to a Pizza Hut in London or anywhere else. Go to a real Italian restaurant!

Some may like them, that depends on the individual like anything else. As for authentic pizza, your best bet is a place with the heading "pizzeria napoletana." If there isn't that anywhere though, it never hurts to ask. The actual pizza from Napoli is usually personal size, although most make them in small, medium, large and other sizes.

I also agree with Proof (above), Lebanese or Moroccan food is always a good thing too! Happy eating!

DO NOT go to Pizza Hut - it is not authentically Italian.....

If you are craving Italian food there are many really great Italian restaurants run by real Italians..... or better still, why not try a really nice English place?

Why not anymore than anyone else? Pizza Hut is a takeaway and doesn't seriously claim to be italian. Why shouldn't an italian person enjoy the taste the same as anyone else? it's the same as asking would any brit eat steak and ale pie in a wetherspoons or fish and chips from arkwrights!!!!

No. Pizza Hut pizzas are not proper pizzas. It's a daft chain like Burger King & MacDonalds.
Go to a classier Pizza place.

I sincerely hope not! Pizza Hut is to Pizza, what MacDonalds is to beef!
If you want a good pizza, you won't do much better than a pizza from Pizza Express. It is a chain, but much classier than Pizza Hut, and would seriously recommend the doughballs for starters, and the Pollo ad Astra for your pizza!!!

No way - they would be horrified.

These Americanised pizzas - a bit like MacDonalds compared with a home-made fat tasty authentic burger.

Pizza Express type is better but I'd steer clear and go somewhere like Chez Gerard Covent Garden where there's a choice for everyone - steak/pasta/pizza.
