My half-sister inherited a restaurant from her mom. The restaurant used to be profitable. It was located between a truck stop and a motel and offered "home-cooked food from Mom's kitchen".

A string of fast-food restaurants has opened up since Sis took over the place, wrecking her business. She is desperate, and her boy friend has brought her in touch with a guy who says he can get her "road kill and other meat you don't know what it died of" but he guarantees nobody will know, nobody will get sick. Boy friend says he can get her untaxed beer and wine, I don't know how for sure although I've heard him in the past talk of a racket where you buy 1/2 your stock from legitimate channels and mix it with identical untaxed stuff "for export".

Should Sis go along with boyfriend and guy, or should she just close up shop? She had promised her mom she'd carry on. I already nixed one proposed solution which was to hire illegal aliens off the books. That leaves a paper trail or, rather, lack of.

When you are dining in a restaurant and the food is bad and the waitress comes back (either during or at the end) and asks "How is/was everything?" or "How is/was the food?", how should one respond? (My hubby tends to be polite and say "fine" or something, whereas I tend to be honest and tell them my thoughts on the food, which I view as helping the restaurant, but I don't know.) What do you do? And if you've been honest about it, what has their reaction(s) been?

Well, there's my sister, my mom, my mom's friend, and me who are going out to eat. We'd all definitely decline to eat at any fast-food area, and would much rather prefer a Restaurant-style place. So, the question is: What should we eat for dinner? :)

Any body know where the best little-known place to eat is in the USA?

I am going with a little place called All-Star Burgers near the intersection of Center and Monroe streets in Tacoma, Washington.

Low cost, great food, friendly people -- what more could you ask for?

Please include the reasoning behind your choice!

Hello, I am making homemade spaghetti with meat and a very hearty sauce. We are also having bread and cheese oils, a nice salad. I live in Ohio. I am not much of a wine drinker, but prefer fruity light flavors over bold spicy flavors. He suggested he liked red and I believe it to be the best for heavy pastas, but where do I start.. My favorite Chocolate Macadamia Nut honey wine from Hawaii... Just so you see my taste... I would like to find a great tasting wine that is easily stomached not to acidity he'll love as well as I. Between 20.00-40.00 or less.
I am not a big fan of the smokey flavors or meat flavors. Thanks

They are training (or trying to train) a guy to replace me when I leave..he didn't put any water in the veg before putting them into the steamer and they ended up in the warmer with no water...Judy (the general manager)chewed my a$s out about it because as always everything is my fault...she had complained about the English peas last...I told Wes, in Judy's presence, "Would you kindly add water to the veg so that when Judy comes back here to take a pea she can be assured it will be a wet one"...oh, she was pissed off! I'm suprised she didn't send me home! She slammed the warmer door shut and slammed the veg down onto the prep table and scowled as if I'd just crapped in a bowl and told her to eat it up and enjoy...I really do hate that woman!

My friends and I went to a sports bar our waitress was serving us ( a group of 4 girls) another table with also all girls about 6 and then a third table with three men . The table of girls next to us complained the same they never were brought half of the drinks they ordered and you at to hunt her down to order . The table with the three guy had all the service . They were not even noticing her , flirtting or anything while she giggled like an idiot . BOth tables with women even had to scream at her for the bill . WHen we went to pay I noticed she gaved us more change than even money we gaved her and the other group of girls we could over hear them talking about the same thing ....Okay call it mean but ourselves and the other girls left , without telling her she was wrong . As she practically was snearing at the fact she had to serve women . Have you had an experience worse then this ?
