For those of you who live in the few states that Waffle Houses are grounded in what is your favortite thing about the place? What is the worst thing? What keeps you going back? Just give me some insight on what you think about Waffle House all-together. Thanks

When I need a fix of good ol' southern redneck truck driver vittles, nothing fits the bill like Waffle House. The hash brown potatoes with all of the goodies on them are the best, practically a meal in themselves. Breakfast 24/7!!! A tinny juke box!! Watching the sweat drip off of the cook into my food!!! A middle age waitress that was really hot twenty years ago, which works fine for me, because I'm a fifty year old aging southern hippie renegade with redneck tendencies!!!

I love it. My wife loves it. My kid loves it. Pecan waffles!! Does it get any better than this????

First of all, be careful -- I assume you're talking about the ones with the black letters in yellow boxes that are mostly throughout the Southeast but have now spread north into Pennsylvania and ? (For example, in Indiana there is a different chain called Waffle House, so when the other Yellow boxes/Black letters Waffle House wanted to build in Indiana they had to call themselves "Waffle and Steak." But any how, I love the place -- usually weird, friendly waitresses, ditto the customers, and the food? -- anywhere from fairly crappy to the great Pecan Waffles and Bacon, Egg & Cheese Sandwiches on Raisin Toast. (I used to get the special called "Cheese 'n Eggs," until I realized that the aforementioned sandwich is exactly the same thing without the grits for about a buck less.

2:15 AM...just got kicked out of the bar...need something to soak up the vodka and tequila shots so I dont feel so hung over at work. 24 hours...cheap, greasy, comfort food is the remedy. Cash only...same waitress any time you walk in to one anywhere in the South. I think they are clones so be careful. Order anything but the waffles.

I have never been inside a Waffle House but it is like a simple coffee bar where breakfast can be lunch and dinner. The one close to my home closed down.

It's cool to me because ya see the people preparing your food. No, it's not the White House dining, but who wants that. I like being able to eat without all that fancy etiquette rules. You meet ordinary people, yep, the bums, and others but one can't block their lives from people like that. I would not be too proud to eat at what some people might consider a dump like Waffle House and if necessary I would eat at the President's house.

The selection of choosing breakfast, lunch or dinner food anytime they're open. I hate restricted menus.

Love the food but miss it cuz there's not one anywhere near me any more. Used to eat there a lot before I moved away. Loved the food and the fact that it was open 24/7/365.

There food is good, basic and at resonable prices. I don't care for what seems to be a general lack of upkeep and, in some instances, cleanliness. I don't have any in the area I live in now.

If it was not a 24 hour restaurant it would have gone out of business a long time ago. The food is very greasy, makes me sick.
