You at least got service. Imagine you get to Chili's and wait for 40min without so much as a waitor or waitress coming to take our drink orders. When we told the hostess, she said someone would be with us shortly. After an hour of waiting we finally got our drink orders and chips but couldn't find out waitress to give our real orders. So we just up and left without paying a thing. Nobody noticed either. The sad part was, it wasn't even a dinner rush, it wasn't even fully loaded at the place. So at least you got service. =p

you had a good experience. you paid less. and did not feel sorry for the "dumb" waitress. yes, I have had worse experiences -- they gave me bad food -- I noticed and complained...and they again served bad food -- this time I did not notice but got very sick later. I was on a business trip -- major hotel restaurant I did not want to make a big fuss. In conclusion there are worse case scenarios than yours -- just be happy...and if I were you...and if it was not below zero outside I would just cancel the order and walk out with friends and go to a near by more friendly restaurant. at times we pay the price...hope it helps.

At a Chinese restaurant we got poor service and the food was poor also. When I went to pay he gave me the amount of the food bill back rather than the few dollars he should. The guy was drinking behind the cash register, that probably had something to do with it. Usually you can not pull a fast one on an oriental where money is concerned.

This summer we were on a bus tour of Mt Rainier that stopped at a little convenience store in an isolated area up the mountain. My wife is a big coffee addict so we went over to that store which had a HOT COFFEE sign instead of getting in the souvenirs store across from it. We went in and found that we were alone there. Then we realized that the clerk was in the back room having a cell phone conversation with her boy friend. We waited a while longer and finally she came out, still with the cell phone in her hand. She said to us "Oh I am sorry." Then she went into the back again to continue her conversation telling the guy on the phone that "Customers had just interrupted her conversation." She finally came out again when she was good and ready, not realizing that ten other bus customers (with less patience than us) had come and gone in disgust at not getting service. She said to us "You get your coffee over there from the urn and then pay me."

We were waited on then ignored while the staff stood around talking about a party they were going to. We sat and looked at our food sitting on the serving area for 15 minutes while it got cold. The manager of the restraunt was not much help because while we were there she ducked out to the liquor store to get booze for her underaged staff for their party. When they did bring the food we poked it. Stood up and left.

There's been a couple of times that I went to Applebees (2 different locations) that I was either ignored, or forgot about. One time I went to the location that was right by my work for my lunch break. I was seated by the hostess, but it took forever for the waitress to acknowledge me and come over and take my order. After she finally did, I think she forgot about me cuz I was sitting there waiting for a loooong time on my food to arrive! So I got pissed off and asked for the manager on duty. He ended up bringing my order right out to me and giving it to me for free. And I've had other bad experiences with that particular store, and also another one across town, just with rude waitresses and hostesses, and us waiting FOREVER for our food to arrive, so I don't eat there that much anymore.
But my story definitely does not top yours. That's really f***** up. Just out of curiousity, did you call the manager at all? He probably would've given you your meal for free.

i will inform you from journey in waiting tables, that there are purely some human beings, regardless of the place they pass, or what they do, they are by no skill happy. Kill 'em with kindness, make specific all nutrition is out whilst it should be, and by no skill provide them a reason to *****. Now it is basically from the waitressing factor. We take a lot of abuse for issues that are previous our administration. the subsequent time you pass out with them, i might propose you're taking them to a place they have by no skill been, (yet you have) and order for them. See what happens. approach is each thing.

The worst experience I had was working at a restaurant. The cook was drunk and threatened to cut my pig tails off if I didn't put my hair up next time. I quit after that night.
