Mc Donald's originally was a hamburger restaurant,hot dogs aren't a food for this fast food restaurant,none of the fast food places feature hot dogs unless it's hot dog charlie's or some other place like that where the hot dog is the main menu, McDonald's has always been featuring hamburgers,and french fries.from the very beginning ,later on they added other foods ,like fish etc.

If there's an EXPRESS MCDONALD'S, there's hot dogs on the menu. We used to have two here in the Baton Rouge, LA area. No longer in business.

Very interesting question. I don't know the answer too. Sorry for my lack of help. Although I'm sure if they sold hotdogs, it would sell well, just like everything thing on their menu.

Because that's not where you're supposed to go for a hot dog . . . for a hot dog people go to either The Hamilton in Carlisle, PA or Abe's Lunch in Wilkes-Barre, PA

I believe the same holds true for Burger King, Wendy's, Hardees, Carls Jr. and most other hamburger chains. My best guess is that it would cannibalize sales from burgers, which they can charge a lot more for
