I was stuck in a boring 4-day meeting in Philadelphia trapped in the hotel because of a some what strong snow storm. I had found out through the Internet that one of my favorite singers was singing localing about 2 hours before the time I found out about it.

I said something about the concert to the front desk, turned out that a group of employees from the hotel were going and they help me get to the arena, and there were tickets available at the box office. It make the worst trip I had ever been on into one of the best I ever had, just because some locals, helped an outsider get thought their city a little easier.

There are "reasonable" and "unreasonable" expectations and demands by hotel guests.
I've witnessed both.

Two paramount expectations come to my mind.
Safety from intrusion and theft.
When a hotel employee finds something of some value that I may have left behind, and it is turned into management, who in turn makes contact with me and arranges return, any other failure in service pales.

I experienced return of an item.

What a tribute to low paid employees and those who hire and train them.

no specific thing, just when they listen to conversational things and go out of their way to remember you, expecially when you are paying 200 bucks a day and are staying repeatedly over many years
