I would prefer one with 16:9 Aspect Ratio but if there isn't any under $1000 oh well. Also I'm not sure how the connections would work with the 360's Component HD AV Cable to a projector. I'm not sure if any projectors support that kind of input.

I need a good powered subwoofer, preferably Velodyne, in a approx 640 sq.foot room(only half of this room is for the home theater, if it makes a difference) My budget range is about $800.
My setup is a JBL Studio L, 7.1. What would be a good model, and what size in general would be good for this space, mainly for movie-watching?

With the subs on it feals and sounds like someone tapping their foot, but olny for about a minnet or two at a time. But it also makes a constant hum all the time.

We are a small church about to launch a monthly film night, with a half-size gym. We also want to use a projector to project worship music and other items onto the wall of our auditorium - which holds perhaps 200 full capacity in pews. We are looking for a strong, clear, inexpensive projector. Any recommendations?

I have a record player, and I want to eliminate the irritating 60 hz tone that it produces, irregardless of if there is a record playing or not. I have tried grounding it, and if I unplug a single RCA cable from it the humm gets worse. Grounding the reciever did not make a difference. How do I get rid of this? I have read I may need a new needle/cartridge. Is this true? Thanks!

I hooked up my new Sony HT-7000DH Home Theater (HT) System last night. This HT receiver has "HDMI Passthrough" so I routed separate HDMI cables from both the Direct TV HD Receiver and a DVD Player. One HDMI Cable then goes from the HT to the TV. Per the HT instructions I also routed Optical Cable from each of the components into the HT. Just to get the system working I used the included wiring. I plan to upgrade the wiring this weekend.

Problem: Whether watching HD TV or playing a DVD I have sound in the left front surround speaker and the subwoofer but no sound from the center speaker or the right front surround. I haven’t hooked-up the rear surround yet to minimize my confusion. I’ve reconnected the wire several times and the HT receiver displays that sound it routing to all of the front speakers but again it’s not. I’ve tried the various settings on the HT Receiver and I never get sound from the center or right.

Any thoughts?

I purchased 16 gage wire for my new HT system and wow does it seem large compared to the wire they included with the system. Sure I know enough to upgrade from the included stuff but 16 sure seems overkill.

The only place I will really "see" the wire is on my rear surround speakers. The house is prewired so I only need to run a 3 foot wire from the mounted speaker to the connections in the wall. Do you think I could get away with using the smaller diameter wire there and the 16 gage for the front and center speakers where it will be hidden?

Enlighten me please! Thank you!

Right now I use a standard DVD player using component out to my HDTV. If I switch to a DVD player that has HDMI "upconverting" and use the HDMI cord and input to my HDTV, will it actually look any better?

I have just purchased a Sony Home Theater system (HT-7000DH). The receiver has HDMI Passthrough (2 HDMI inputs/1 HDMI output). The DVD player is HDMI as well. I also currently have a DirectTV HD Receiver hooked up via HDMI to my Plasma TV. I want to fit all this together seamlessly.

The HDMI signals carried by the HT receiver are only "passed through". Video and sound pass through the HT receiver without being processed or sent to the speakers (this is intentional by Sony for legal reasons). The receiver does allow for the reassignment of sound inputs.

From earlier support here I believe to get surround sound I will need to run optical or component cables (in addition to HDMI) from both sources to my HT receiver. Right/wrong? Two other questions. 1) Will I then run a Optical Out from my HT receiver to my TV? 2) Do I have this all wrong?

If you can answer here that would be great. Or if someone will share an e-mail address I can contact you there. Sorry my first HT ever.

These are legally-obtained video-files, and the download format is .asf. I would like to burn these files onto a CD-ROM. I know that some DVD players play a wide-variety of formats. If anyone knows of a DVD player that will play .asf files, I would appreciate it.

Or... if there is an easy work-around, I would appreciate that input from you as well.

Thanks!
