Games & Gear - November 2006

I've yet to purchase a next gen game system. I bought an XBOX when it first came out for 300 bucks. Now only a few years later it's barely worth trading in. I'll think I'll wait it out a couple of years. I'd rather pick up a PS3 when it goes down to 199.99. Am I wrong for waiting?

There has been so much crazy news surrounding these new consoles. But, it doesn't make sense that you have a launch date for the PS3 on Nov 17th and Nov 19th for the Wii. Given I didn't try very hard to get one, I wasn't willing to wait outside for days on end. Nor was I really willing to wait in line for 5-6 hours. So, I understand why I wasn't able to get one on the Launch dates.

But, my question is, Black Friday is known as the biggest shopping day of the year. I am wondering what you guys suspect if the major retailers will have another shippment of both these consoles for this major shopping day? Because it doesn't make sense to no have two of the hottest items for this Holiday season and be completely sold out. Where do you think I would have the most luck to pick up a Wii or PS3 on or before "Black Friday"?

What are your guys thoughts?

I bought 2 PS3's and want to sell them on ebay, but with so many on the market now I think it might be wise to wait until parents are desperate closer to the holidays. This all depends on whether or not sony will ship more until then, So yea... When should I sell it?

Hello all!

I managed to get a PS3 flown over from Japan with the intention of sellign it on eBay but have been informed that they wont allow me to sell on the UK site. Does anyone knwo a way round this, or am I going to have to asdvertise locally?

I'd use it myself but I need a transformer for the voltage and dont fancy waiting a week to get one off eBay or trapsing around the shops looking for one.

i decided to wait to get a playstation 3 for now till more shipments come in that wouldnt possibly have glitches and/or bugs.
so im gonna buy a 360 on wedsneday. i just wanted to know some really really good games for the system. i wish halo 3 was comin out now. thats basically my primary reason for buying the thing.

when you consider the facts:

PS3 has full HD support. neither the Wii or the 360 have anything close to that.

you can play PS3 online for free, microsoft charges $70 for a year. PS3 has blu-ray compatibility. The Wii has nothing of the sort. and the 360 requires you spend $200 to play HD DVDs which only plays movies and arent even as good as blu-ray discs.

Ps3 can store up to 60GB of music movies and games. 360 can store 20GB and Wii can store jack ****.

Ps3 has games like resistance, Lair, Full auto 2, Motorstorm. the only good game of the 360 is halo 3, which wont be here until next november.

PS3 has the option of HDMI, AV, Coaxial, or component output, the 360 gives you one cable that will use either A/V or Component, and they have the nerve to call the component output HD. wii makes you use AV.

The Blu-ray discs used for PS3 games make the games huge. i beat gears of war on the 360 in 9 hours after 12 hours i am about 1/4 through resistance.
SO Why hate PS3

I noticed that the PS3 was cheaper on the united kingom website store. It was like $100 dollars cheaper. The games were only $34 dollars vs 59 dollars. If I bought the PS3 from united kingdom and the games from united kingdom, would these games play in English. I would like to try to save some moeny, but not sure if these games from United Kingdom are in English. Thanks!
