I bought mine for Halo 3.. it's not here yet, but in spring of next year, they're releasing more Halo 2 multiplayer maps that you can only use on the 360. They're also releasing an online Halo 3 multiplayer demo around the same time.

Later of course there's Halo 3, and "the Halo Movie game series" and "Halowars".. no real details about the Halo movie game series yet, but it was mentioned on Bungie.net recently.
Halowars is also a 360 exclusive, and more details can be found at http://www.halowars.com

However, for right now, My favorites include a lot of the original Xbox games.. Many of which are backwards compatible.

You can also go to gamestop to get the games that have the "BC" written on the price tags.. the BC stands for "Backwards Compatible" Ninja Gaiden Black, for example, is a great one.

Personally, I love the 360 Live service.. I download demos all the time, and my girlfriend likes the Live Arcade stuff. If you don't want LIVE, you can also get a $24 subscription to the "official Xbox magazine" and it's got demos every month too, though a lot of them are the same as what's on Live.

Gamewise, I loved the Lost planet demo, and want to get the full game. I also like the Ninety-nine Nights too.. a little cheesy, but at least worth renting.

Of course, there's also Gears of War, and Dead Rising.. I haven't tried GOW yet, but I was planning on renting it soon. Dead Rising is pretty slick though.. I bought it recently and get plenty of game time with it.

Anyways.. The system is totally worth it, as long as you get the harddrive. No harddrive = no backwards compatibility. No internet connection is the same deal..

To run a backwards compatible game, you put the disk in and it looks online for the emulator for it. It does it all automatically, and stores it on your harddrive so you can play the game next time without being online.
