There has been so much crazy news surrounding these new consoles. But, it doesn't make sense that you have a launch date for the PS3 on Nov 17th and Nov 19th for the Wii. Given I didn't try very hard to get one, I wasn't willing to wait outside for days on end. Nor was I really willing to wait in line for 5-6 hours. So, I understand why I wasn't able to get one on the Launch dates.

But, my question is, Black Friday is known as the biggest shopping day of the year. I am wondering what you guys suspect if the major retailers will have another shippment of both these consoles for this major shopping day? Because it doesn't make sense to no have two of the hottest items for this Holiday season and be completely sold out. Where do you think I would have the most luck to pick up a Wii or PS3 on or before "Black Friday"?

What are your guys thoughts?

Thanks,

Mike

Sorry to say but if you didn't get one on those days, the next expected shipment isn't supposed to be until March.
The next only place to buy one is ebay or if you get really lucky a pawnshop (if the person actually brought it there must be living under a rock)
I did get really lucky for a x-box 360, which I was returning a product and it was like 3 weeks after the intial launch so when it was returned I told the customer service person to ring it up that I would take it, which I did and sold it on ebay.
If I could get a PS3 I would keep it, I sold the x-box cuz i knew PS3 is going to win again.
My thought is unless you are going to sell it, just wait be patient and get one when all the bugs and glitches are finally worked out, remember the PS2, or the PS1, when dics would freeze up and or not read anything?
I just seen in USA today, that there will be abundant supply pretty much in every store.

I doubt most places will have it again for weeks. I read an article about how many PS3's were coming to the US (400,000) so I imagine they were all bought up on the 17th. It didn't look promising that many more would get there that fast. Kinda like the XBOX 360 was at first. Stores around me would get 1 or 2 every few weeks. I haven't read that much about the Wii but I can imagine that the same goes for that one too...not that many to sell in the first place.
I guess you should try e-bay or your local newspapers classified ads and pay the extra $$$ they will be charging.
Whatever you decide, Good Luck.

What time you get to the store depends on where you live. For example, I live in Minnesota. If it's cold outside (in the teens and 20's), people will line up at 10pm. If it's warm (above 30 degrees), peple usually start lining up at 6pm. By 5am when the store opens, there are already hundreds of people in line. Forget about getting a laptop, desktop, or TV if you are not in the top 100 people in line. I will drive by the Best Buy near my home on Thanksgiving starting at 4pm to check on the line. I will drive by every 1.5 hours until I see people start lining up. That's when I haul *** to the parking lot (with my winter gear and sleeping bag) and camp out. I have always recieved the items on my list.

Most likely not, but keep your head up! It really helps if you work or know people who work at a retail chain that sells them. You would want to be ready on the slim chance they might get a few in. I recommend forgetting about and cuddling up with a 360 and Gears of War.

No, the stores are already busy enough, even if they do get a shipment in, the employees and buisness partners have first dibs. Unless your willing to pay big money on ebay or have a friend that works in electronics, kiss it goodbye until after Christmas.

Doubt it........people will be too interested in trying to get them than spending money on other advertised items........stores would be crazy if they had them. I heard that the next time the stores will have them will be early spring.
