What if you have Tony Hawk's Project 8 for PS2, could you buy the one for the PS3 and use the PS2 save?

Like using the PS2 save for the PS3 game.

No because there are going to be slight change in the game and the ps2 file is diferent to the ps3 game

No you wouldn't be able to. PS3 is backward compatible, able to play PS2 and PS1 games...but not able to save and open games designed for different versions.
