Cell Phones & Plans (Consumer Electronics) - September 2006

I have a Nokia 6030 phone with service through Cingular. Is there any way to transfer music clips (=ringtones) to the phone without going through Cingular's "ringtones store"? I'd like to put my own tones on the phone, not buy them from someone. Possible? Can I get a cable to connect the phone to my PC?

Virgin Mobile?

Does anyone use Virgin Mobile? I'm thinking of taking them up on a contract because they are very cheap but my only gripe is that I think they use the T-Mobile network which could mean bad reception all the time?

A question for you...?

Okay, im under 18 and want a cell phone..... parents have bad credit so cant get me one. I have a debit/credit card kinda thing and a job. Is there anyway to get a cell phone thats not prepaid? http://www.virginmobileusa.com/rates/month.do .........would something like that work? I think it says i can use cards to put on an account then they take out money monthly with no contract.... is that true? Or could I get a type of thing where they co-sign in some way? Is that possible? Im open to any and all ideas!

Which cell phone provider has the best overall coverage?

I am looking for great nationwide coverage... I travel many places by car, and I need to be sure that I will have as few "dead" spots as possible.

I am worried about Cingular because their all-digital network may not cover me in places where I can only reach analog signals....

So, which cell phone provider will give me the widest area of coverage in the United States?

Also, is there a certain kind of cell phone that receives a better signal than others? My worst fear is breaking down on the side of the road somewhere & realizing my cell phone is completely out of range....!

What's the best phone on Verizon?

I have a very old verizon Samsung phone and my contract is almost up. I'd like to renew and get a new phone but I'm not sure what's the best phone. I'd like one with the most features. I hear nothing but complaints about the RAZRs. Cool design but crappy in any other aspect. I see a bunch of comercials for Chocolate but no one actually has one. I think cameras are pretty standard on cell phones these days. Anyways, could you pitch me some ideas?

Anyone know what the catch is? Am I being conned?

I am on an O2 mobile phone contract.

As my 12 month contract has now expired I phoned to cancel (I am an extremely light user and only took the contract for the phone)

They instead offered an new 12 month contract with only 25 minutes/25 texts per month (more than ample for my needs) for £8.00 per month with a £100 credit. As 12 * 8 is only £96.00 the contract is effectively free.

What am I missing?

How often do you get people calling the wrong number on your cell phone.?

I get about 2-3 times a month a call from wrong dials. I'm wondering how often this happens to other people? I have all my numbers programed and most numbers can be accessed by 'name dial' so I never mis-dial.
