I am trying to decide whether or not to switch from 35mm to digital. The cameral I am looking at is a Nikon D50 with 6.2 megapixels. I have also looked at the D80, which has 10.2 mp. I'm not sure which will be better if I want to get prints larger than an 8 x 10. Naturally the salesman is pushing the more expensive camera, but I just wanted input from someone other than a salesman.

I know, Optical zoom is the one comes out of the camera and digital zoom doesn't. But other than that how are they diffrent which one do you recommend when I am thinking about buying a
5megapixel 5X digital zoom. or 5.1 Mega pixel w/ 3x Optical zoom.
the one with digital zoom is lik $119 and Optical zoom is 150
I am going to be using this camera for mostly family pictures and trips.

will the date stamp on a digital camera, kodak easyshare for precise, print on a Photo paper? or is there an option to turn it off while printing alone ? sounds crazy, but I asked then to guess!!
