I'm getting an mp3 player for xmas. Is it true that if you subscribe and then stop subscribing to a download site then you can no longer play the songs you downloaded whilst subscribed? What's the point of that? I'd rather pay to download each song and then have no ongoing fees. So does anyone know where I get the cheapest (legal) music downloads?

This is a question on sound quality and my desktop computer.

Does data(cd or dvd) format give you the same 5.1 surround sound quality as actual(cd or dvd) format.

The reason i am asking is because i am planning on getting some 80watt surround sound speakers.

Also through 5.1 surround sound speakers, can you still give 5.1 surround sound even if some videos don't state surround sound, or is pretty much every video in surround sound now.

Also is 7.1 surround sound any different than 5.1, or is it just more speakers.

By the way, if i am not interested in bass, i'm just interested in surround sound only, is 80watt speakers good for a 10 by 11 room. Also can i get good surround sound with those kinds of speakers. Also can sound blaster card improve sound quality. The sound blaster card i am talking about is only $30 and i can get it from walmart. Its the Audigy Sound Blaster by Creative.

Hi, i'm an office administrator at a real estate company in MI. Were having lots of problems for the last 2 days, people have cracked into our lines or extenstions, from other countries (Ethiopia, Pakistan, etc..) and using our lines for international calling. SBC is our provider and they can't do anything about this, they won't even block international calls. HELP! our phone bill is going to be sky rocketed at the end of the month, anyone ever hear of this??!? I have tried everything!

I need to buy a 37 or 42 inch TV. It has to be a thin TV, no DLP or any other bulky old style and eventually I may hang it on the wall.
There will be no still images from slide show machines or computer, no use as computer monitor ever; just watching DVS's and movies from digital cable.
I am not interested on the fancy ones that cost a fortune and I am budgeting this from $800 to $1600 as I have seen on the market. I can't see why anyone would pay 3K or a lot more for a TV this size. What do they have extra to offer to cost so much more? I've seen many side by side on stores and the image is basically the same either on fast or slower image moves. Is it just paying for famous brand?

Our living room TV turns on by itself sometimes. It started doing it a few months back and at the same time every night (around 2am). We thought maybe there was a way to set it up to turn on at a certain time and that maybe somone hit something on the remote accidentally. We have no manual for it. It is about 10 years old and is a GE.

My husband and I went through every menu trying to see if we could set it up to turn on at a certain time. You can't, there's only a sleep timer for turning it OFF.

It stopped doing it for a few months but then yesterday and today it turned on around 8am. We thought maybe a cat layed on the remote, but the remote was put away on a shelf.

My husband seems to think a power surge could cause this. But with only ONE tv? We have 4 tv's in our house. Nothing else is affected...
