I have a mac, and one time while I was restarting my computer, a window came up explaining how the iTunes Library had been damaged. My Ipod was also plugged in so all the the songs were taken off there too. The mpg files are still saved on my computer, but it would take a long time to put them back on and then I would have to rerate all of my songs. I don't have that kind of time. Is there any way I can restore my old iTunes library to how it was?

You know these sites you can try out a game, you'll have to download it and play for n hour, then you got to decide to buy or not. Can I just hijack it?
I am so bad for asking, but what the heck.

I have been told about Linux based OS ubuntu. I would like to know if there are any software compatibility issues with it. I myself would be forced to use Office for example and to be honest I am very used to MS software.

I would also like to know if there are any compatibility issues with software which says is reccomended to be used with Windows for example Games, burning software, security software etc etc and any other software which all carry a windows label for reccomended use.

I hope I have made some sense here.

Thanx.

I have just finished building a PC from salvaged parts. One HD I have been useing just for storage with my Laptop and one I used to install Win98 to see if my PC will work.

Now I need an updated OS and of course I would like to spend as little as possible but in a legal manner. I don't mind bending the law but breaking it with copyright stuff etc is out of the Q.

To my knowledge an OEM version fits my purpose but will it work on either one of my HD if I were to format them?

Thanx.

I have a big stack of audio cds that i burned a while back, as back ups when i moved everything to mp3.
These cd's still work fine in a cd player but show up blank in the laptop.
was this the result of a windows update, and is there a way of reversing it?
is there a program that will read the cds?
itunes, windows media etc wont read them.
please help!!!

I want to experiment with making eye-catching yet unobtrusive ads, but the price of a commercial editor is rather prohibitive for just putting a toe in the water, or the limited use I'd put it to if it works out.

Thanks for any leads!

My new computer has tons of offers and junk. I put it all in my documents in a folder. Is that right? I bought windows live onecare for it too. The guys at staples said to install IE 7 beta if I opted not to use mozilla/firefox. I couldn't find it on microsofts download site. Instead I just downloaded all the updates for XP Home and that included IE 6 updates. I need advice? Am I safe?

How similar is the data on different computers? I assume that backing up a slew of corporate PCs would require very little space, because most of the machines are very similar... identical OS, software installs, etc. Mostly just config files and user data are different.

But how similar are regular PCs belonging to the average Joe? There don't seem to be that many possible OS versions, and really that much software that's unique. Any data to back up the claim is much appreciated.

It comes up with run time violations.
I've tried, repair, uninstall/reinstall Office 2000.
Reinstall Windows XP. But still get the same answer. Does anyone know what the problem could be. Everything else is working perfectly.

I recently switched internet providers to ATT Yahoo from AOL. I paid to have to McAfee firewall with AOL and it seemed to work well. Now I just have the firewall thats on the computer. With McAfee I could see what was being blocked etc. Well I have been told that McAfee isn't the greatest, and I am thinking of paying for my own but don't know which security software is best.

Any Recomendations, good bad experiences?
Please simple english please. I don't know computer lingo..
Thanks so much!
