This is a question for my fellow programmers. I'm in college right now, I have been for 2 years and I'm about to graduate with my first degree in computer programming. Not quite sure what I'm going to do to celebrate but anyway, thought the time I've been studying my major, I've notice that the majority of programming languages I've come across are basically (yes I did not forget some key differences) the same. I'm actually starting to think that programming is simply a programming language and a state of mind, the same problems I've had with coding now I am getting better at. Mainly dealing with algorithms was my problem, and I am quickly getting much better because I refuse to give up.

To me, programming is a language, and a state of mind. My question is what is programming to YOU?

I have a grid view control on my form and I have another class with a method that returns a Dataset.

How do I get the grid to display the Dataset?

I keep reading about a SetDataBinding method, is this still available in VB 2005 cause I get an error that its not part of the DataGrid Control and it doesnt show up on the drop down list.

I'm trying to use background graphics with forground graphics on my page, but if I put in the image in, there's phantom space below it that makes the background image wrap when I don't want it to. When I take the image out, it works ok, but only if I use tables, not divs. I've tried margin and padding :0, but that isn't working either. I've had similar problems to this for a long time. There must be a simple guide to using this stuff correctly (or if there was a way to FORCE the browser to make the cell EXACTLY the size I WANT!)

Whew. Man this would be so easy if it would just size it the way I tell it to.

Writing a document, about 30 pages long I have inserted about 20 pictures. On retriving my document later I often find that the picture spaces have been replaced with an "X" across the area. Why is this happening and how do I prevent it?

There is free software on the web called Open Office from Sun Microsystems, it is free and attempts to release the monopoly that Microsoft has on the Office software market, why can't there be an Open Windows which can run alongside Microsoft Windows because I hate the stranglehold that Mcrosoft has on the World PC market.
