Just to let you know, if you format you will lose EVERYTHING. That said, you can just boot to the XP Home CD and go through setup. It will eventually ask you if you want to format, you can do it there...I suggest formatting using NTFS, not FAT32.

You just install xp home over 2000. It will ask whether you want to format 2000 drive. Just say yes.

its so easy dear,

first see on which partiton your window is installed , usually its C: drive.

Then copy all necessary data, to ur other drive e.g. like D: or E: drive.

Then boot your machine from XP bootable cd, also remember to select first boot device as CD rom from ur computer's main setup.

Then follow the procedure and xp partition manager will start,
here it will ask to select your drive that where to install XP,

u will select C: drive, and then it asks for formating the drive,
select yes with option named,

"format c: with fat32 full format"

and then u go on...

Caution: when selecting drive be carefull to select only C: drive,
to format, otherwise all ur data on other drive which u select will b removed, erased forever.

so select only C: drive.

if still not clear,
jst email me.

Google "Boot and Nuke". Put it onto a floppy disk and then reboot your pc from the floppy. EVERYTHING will be gone and then you can install whatever you want. By the way, it is free. Or can email me or message me on Yahoo! and I can mail you a copy of it....whichever.
