Simple. You dont. The yahoo email account is one of the best email programs available. My only complaint about them is that you cannot cut and paste, nor edit forwarded emails.Or thats probably just me not knowing how to do these tasks..
If you have another email address from your internet provider and you use Outlook for that one, you can forward all emails addressed to that account into your yahoo email. Or vice versa. Its called merging your inbox.
Keep the two going until you are sure which you like the best. Then merge if you want to. Or keep both.

Technically, you need to get a plus subscription. However, there is a free program called ypops that lets you use your e-mail in outlook for free. Check it out at http://www.ypopsemail.com

Microsoft Outlook 2002 and 2003 allow you to add a new email account to your existing profile. This means that you do not have to replace your current settings in order to send and receive Verizon Yahoo! Mail messages.
To configure your POP settings for Microsoft Outlook 2002 (sometimes referred to as Outlook XP) and 2003, follow these steps:
From the "Tools" menu, select "Email Accounts." You may have to click the arrows.
Select the radio button next to "Add a new e-mail account" and click the "Next" button.
Select the radio button next to "POP3" and click the "Next" button.
Enter the following information:
User Information
Your Name: Enter your name as you would like it to appear in the "From" field of your outgoing messages.
E-mail Address: Enter your full Verizon Yahoo! Mail address.
Server Information
Incoming mail server (POP3): incoming.yahoo.verizon.net
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): outgoing.yahoo.verizon.net
Login Information
ID: Enter your full Verizon Yahoo! email address, such as user@verizon.net or user@verizon.net
Password: Enter your Verizon Yahoo! password.
Do not check the box next to "Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA)."
Click the "More Settings" box and select the "Outgoing Server" tab.
Check the box next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication."
If you would like to keep a copy of your email messages on the Verizon Yahoo! Mail server, select the "Advanced" tab. Check the box next to "Leave a copy of messages on the server."
Click the "OK" button.
Click the "Next" button on the Email Account Wizard, then click "Finished."
Important: The Verizon Yahoo! Mail SMTP server requires authentication. To turn this setting on, follow these steps:
Click "Tools" then select "E-mail Accounts."
Select "View or change existing email accounts and click "Next."
Select your Verizon Yahoo! Mail account and click the "Change" button on the right.
Click the "More Settings" button in the bottom right corner of the Email Accounts window.
In the Internet E-mail Settings window, click the "Outgoing Server" tab. Ensure that the box is checked next to "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication."
Click the "Advanced" tab and ensure that you have not selected "This Server Requires a Secure Connection (SSL)" under the incoming (POP3) or outgoing (SMTP) port settings.
To control deletion of messages from the Verizon Yahoo! Mail server, follow these steps:
From the "Tools" menu, choose "E-mail Accounts."
Select the radio button next to "Add a new e-mail account" and click the "Next" button.
Double-click the Verizon Yahoo! Internet account.
Select the "Advanced" tab.
In the "Delivery" section at the bottom of the window, check "Leave a copy of messages on server" if you want to save your Verizon Yahoo! Mail messages on both the Verizon Yahoo! Mail server and on your local computer. If you want your messages to be deleted from the Verizon Yahoo! Mail server after you have received them in Outlook, do not check this box.
