I am running winows xp pro. It is a recently brought secondhand reconditioned computer, have only had it for approx 4wks. it has been working fine until today when I turned it on, everything loaded as per usual but there was a small square window saying Critical error-No datebase found? What does this mean/ How did it happen? How can i fix it? I have virus scanned, ad-aware scanned, spybot scanned etc...any suggestions besides blow it up would be greatly appreciated...

According to perlldoc - I should not get a match if $word is say 509992. It should only match if it is at least 2 digits and no more than 4. See this snippit:

my $word = $ARGV[0];
print "It matches\n" if $word =~ /\d{2,4}/;

Yet if I feed this something whacky like 50401030303 - it WILL match and print out "It matches". Is this guy's perlrequick document just wrong on this point or have I futzed something up?

I am trying to make a word list that will combine numbers and letters ranging from 6-20 leters in all the possible combinations but it will takes years if i type it my self. For example aaaaa next would be aaaab and so on untill reaching 20 z's

Hi,
working with pc, xp, sp2 home ed. having problems with THE PRINT SHOP 20 deluxe.

i have made a few pages for my upcoming website and am trying to get them linked. i follow the rather simple directions for adding hyperlinks and always get this pop-up message box:
the information in the field labeled 'specific page:' is missing or invalid.
i'm quite sure the information i put in the field is correct and have tried many variations with no success.
please offer some advice and/or leads to other sources of info.

i have a website(i am not hosting it or anything,it's just for practicing making website) so i am trying to use FTP in macromedia dreamwever 8 and i don't know how to use it.
i tryed testing server>advanced> all the information that you need to put in ,and i am confused between FTP host and Host directiory? are they both the same,
here is what i put for the Ftp host, ftp://manzoorafghani.tripod.com/1/
and for the host directory i put http://manzoorafghani.tripod.com/1/

I have a main page 'site.com' that i would like to have automatically redirect the person to one of 3 possibilities based on browser settings; either english, chinese traditional, or chinese simpified.

So for example an english user should be redirected from 'site.com' to the site 'site..com/en/main.html'

This is a one time redirect only at the main page i do have links at the sites... but i would rather redirect the users immediately and let them change after.

Ideally something without a script (i.e., pure html) but ill take anything.

It was fine until the update and now my words up at the top of the web page have been thrown down to the bottom right when I view it and publish it. I am confused to what happen to the program. Now my page is messed up and I can not get my word on the top to be displayed on the top. From what I have read by others it looks like yahoo sitebuilder is an unpopular choice to make a page for the limited knowledgeable people like me. I hate to switch because it has done well for me so far but that may be at an end. If there is no solution I will have to unload sitebuilder from yahoo and find another user friendly page builder. I am not gonna be able to handle this much longer. If you have a useful answer for me I would be very grateful. Thanks

I am stumped! I am talking about when you open a command window, then type FTP. The regular DOS commands don't work and the rmdir command from FTP keeps returning directory isn't empty.
