Click on the arrow next to the pencil (if you have yahoo toolbar). Then choose "personal options"..."add/edit buttons. Just put a check in the box next to "yahoo email."
Hope that helps.
If you don't have yahoo toolbar just right click anywhere on bar and you will find the same sort of menu.

right click on a blank part of the toolbar and choose customize. choose the icon(s) you want from the list on the left
